View this post on Instagram I've been too focused on work lately, so today I'm starting with some self-reflection and trying to come up with solutions for anger issues that I have. I often lose control of my behavior and lash out at the person closest to me in a totally inappropriate and unhelpful way. It's embarrassing to admit and so I spend psychological effort trying to ignore that it's a problem instead of working on it... But that isn't going to change anything and my loved ones and I deserve better. ?? Thanks for reading; here for you, your problems, your growth, your honesty. View this post on Instagram today is my 25th birthday. <one year ago, I didn't have Wild Hum. <I didn't have aspirations to be a professional musician. <I was riddled with anxiety & depression and having panic attacks. >today, i'm recording the first record of my original songs, written, composed, organized, and fundraised independently. >i'm working with a producer in Anaheim CA who's gotten us a contract to begin licensing music- which means I'll soon be making money as a recording artist. >i'm on an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication, pursuing therapy, and being as honest and humble as i know how in a healthy, loving relationship. last year i realized that my difficultly with being vulnerable - with really letting other people into my heart, and letting them see my needs and desires - was hindering my happiness and success. i think that setting out to open to others, to trust others, and to focus on building my own self-esteem has helped me find my path in a short few months. i'm so proud of myself for learning how to love. i'm so grateful to you for loving me. #RecordingArtist #IndieSinger #Songwriter #IndependentMusician #HealingJourney #Gratitude A post shared by hannah rooth (@hannahrooth) on Apr 30, 2019 at 10:10am PDT

View this post on Instagram “A consequence of female self-love is that the woman grows convinced of social worth. Her love for her body will be unqualified, which is the basis of female identification. If a woman loves her own body, she doesn't grudge what other women do with theirs; if she loves femaleness, she champions its rights. It's true what they say about women: Women are insatiable. We are greedy. Our appetites do need to be controlled if things are to stay in place. If the world were ours too, if we believed we could get away with it, we would ask for more love, more sex, more money, more commitment to children, more food, more care. These sexual, emotional, and physical demands would begin to extend to social demands: payment for care of the elderly, parental leave, childcare, etc. The force of female desire would be so great that society would truly have to reckon with what women want, in bed and in the world.” ~ Naomi Wolf, The Beauty Myth // i'm sexy. and powerful.
